My homeopathic journey

I first experienced homeopathy when I developed asthma in my twenties. After five months of regular visits to my GP about a persistent cough and numerous unsuccessful attempts at treatment, I was diagnosed with asthma. I was very grateful to finally know what was wrong and to be able to quickly control my cough with inhalers, but my gratitude soon turned to frustration.

A combination of naivety, an inquisitive mind and perseverance led me back to my GP and eventually to homeopathy. I assumed that once we worked out what had caused the asthma, then we could find the right medicine to cure it. My GP, however, disagreed and said that asthma could not be cured. He told me that I would simply have to use inhalers for the rest of my life. Well I had no intention of using inhalers for the rest of my life and so I decided to look elsewhere for help.

This is when I began learning about homeopathy... Natural medicine, which is safe and non-toxic – I liked the sound of that. Stimulates the body to heal itself, rather than using medicines that fight against it – sounded sensible. Treats the underlying causes of illness, not just the symptoms – bingo! And so I decided to visit a Homeopath. I was given lots of time and attention, really listened to and treated with respect and compassion. After several months of treatment the asthma was gone and I came off the inhalers. I am delighted to report that to this day, many years on, I have remained symptom-free and inhaler-free.

During the process of my homeopathic treatment I decided to embark on the training myself, as I had been so inspired and wanted to raise the profile of homeopathy and help other people in the way I had been helped. I trained at the Centre for Homeopathic Education in Central London, on their four year part-time programme, and loved every minute of it.

My practice

During my training I practised under supervision in a variety of clinical settings. Today, as a qualified Homeopath, I practise at the C.H.A.I.M. Centre in Willesden Green, serving North and North West London.

As a Registered Member of The Society of Homeopaths, I abide by a strict Code of Ethics and Practice and hold full insurance. I am committed to education and development, both my own as a practitioner and the education and development of students.

I treat people of all ages and backgrounds, both male and female, suffering from a wide range of complaints. I have a particular interest in treating conditions such as eczema, asthma, hay fever, food intolerance and other allergies, which are unfortunately on the increase in today’s society, and I am also interested in the treatment of addiction, anxiety and stress-related illness. I have found that all of these conditions, and many more, respond very well to homeopathic treatment.
